2020 in Review-part 1

Wow what a crazy year this has been!

Not knowing what my year would look like after the lock down in March, I was a bit worried but I scrambled to come up with creative ideas to help me survive when no one wanted to hire a photographer.

From late March to the end of April, I started by volunteering with the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce to start a “Front Steps Project” where we would have families donate to our local food bank “Our Neighbors Table” and then myself or another photographer would go to the house of the donating family and then take their photo with a long lens.

It turned out to be more fun and rewarding than I had thought it would be. Thank you to the Amesbury Chamber who made a great online sign up sheet and coordinated with the families and their schedules. In between their zoom meetings, I would show up and take a 5 min portrait of who lived in the home.  It was fun not knowing who would come out of the house, I met guinea pigs, cats, dogs, chickens… it was all very entertaining and put a smile on everyone’s face which was needed in this time of uncertainty. I think we photographed about 150 families and helped raise 7,000 dollars for the food bank.
